The assistant

Ask questions about the open test in plain words: which solution fits, what the derivative shows, whether a result can be trusted.

The assistant answers questions about the open test. Open it with Ask on the toolbar or Help > Ask the assistant.... It needs you to be signed in.

It can look at the test and act in the workspace. It can fit a solution, compare solutions, read the derivative of a well, run Cooper-Jacob, include or leave out wells, change the plot and search this documentation. Each thing it does is listed in the conversation as it happens, and a fit it runs changes the parameters on the right, which you can undo with Edit > Undo.

  • "Which solution fits this test best, and why?"
  • "Is the late-time derivative flat? What does that say about the aquifer?"
  • "Fit Theis to the observation wells only."
  • "Can I trust the standard error on T?"
Answers come from a language model and can be wrong. The numbers it quotes come from the open test and from the calculations it runs, but check its reasoning before you rely on it.

What is sent

With each question the assistant sends a summary of the open test: its name, units, schedule, the wells with their distances, numbers of readings and ranges of time and drawdown, the solution, its parameters and the fit. Individual readings are not sent, only values the assistant's tools compute from them, such as the derivative at a few times. Questions are answered by a Google Gemini model in Google Cloud's Mumbai region.

Questions a month

One question is one thing you ask, however many steps the assistant takes to answer it. The Free plan includes 25 PumpPilot questions a month and PumpPilot Pro 100; the count starts again on the first of each month (India time). PumpPilot's questions are counted apart from PipePilot's.
